Trade Related Technical Assistance (TRTA)

Trade Related Technical Assistance (TRTA) initiatives aim to assist member countries' governments and SMEs in developing their trade capacity so that they may develop new or improve existing export products, gain access to new markets, and strengthen their organisations so that they can engage effectively in trade.

Enhancements to products and systems; roundtables, expert meetings; Trade Courses, regional seminars, workshops, and training events on specialised themes are all examples of technical assistance activities.

TRTA activities aim to:
  • Assist private and public companies in attracting investments, identifying new partners, expanding into new markets, and enhancing their impact.
  • Assist SMEs in improving their operational efficiency.
  • Assist governments in putting national trade strategies into action.
